Designed for (RN, LPN, ECG techs, etc) and motivated students who want to learn the basic ECG skills of measuring, recognizing, and interpreting simple cardiac rhythms
Day 1: Learn correct lead placement, troubleshooting poor tracings, recognition and measurement of various EKG waves. Recognition of ectopic beats, bundle branch blocks, and ST changes.
Day 2: Understanding the anatomy and physiology of the heart including complete systole and diastole cardiac cycles and cardiac output. Techniques on reading and analyzing the ECG paper. An in depth explanation of the conduction system.
Rhythms include:
Sinus rhythms including SA blocks and sinus arrests
Atrial dysrhythmias and Premature complexes
Premature Junctional Complexes
Idioventricular rhythms
Pacemaker malfunction rhythms including transvenous, epicardial and transcutaneous pacing
Classification and clinical significance of AV Blocks
12-Lead and 3-Lead ECG Indications
Common arrhythmiasIdentifying and distinguishing various arrhythmias
